Businesses of all shapes and sizes depend on their reputation, and in the digital age, it takes more than operational excellence to earn a great reputation. You need to demonstrate your commitment to social and environmental responsibility, too. In this regard, the way in which you handle your waste and recycling process says a lot about your business.

Today corporations and consumers alike are better informed than ever before and everywhere we look there is a reminder of the impact our business operations and consumer choices have on the planet we all share.

Experts like Dame Ellen MacArthur project that by 2050 there will be more plastics than fish in the oceans. And even if you are not aware of the damage that non-domestic plastic waste can have on the environment, there is a big chance that your target audience is.

That is why we work tirelessly to ensure that the businesses that make our nation great are able to keep their plastic waste out of landfills. With a suite of plastic and e-waste recycling and sustainable disposal services, we at Plastic Expert work collaboratively with businesses to ensure greener operational practices.

There is more to Plastic Recycling than bottles!

It is entirely possible that your business is already taking good care to reduce paper waste. You may already have a policy about printing out documents and you probably ensure that your paper and card are recycled regularly. You may even be recycling your plastic bottles regularly.

But we know that plastic bottle recycling is only the tip of the iceberg.

While less than 80% of local authority recycling centres are able to recycle mixed rigid plastics and handle bulky rigid plastic recycling, this is an area where we excel! What’s more… we will even pay you for the privilege of recycling your rigid plastics.

That’s right! We pay to Recycle your Rigid Plastics

If you would like to turn your mixed rigid plastics recycling and bulky rigid plastics recycling into a potential revenue stream, get in touch with us today. We are happy to bulk buy large quantities of your rigid plastic waste so you can not only save money in making your business greener, but make money from it too.

All we need is 12-15 good quality photos of the load for us to get started. After this, a dedicated account manager will get in touch with you. They will arrange a convenient time for a material inspection. Once this has taken place we will be able to confirm an accurate buying price.

How much do we pay to Recycle your Mixed Rigid Plastics?

That depends on several factors. The last thing we would want to do is to give an inaccurate price online or over the phone, which is why a material inspection is such an important part of our recycling programs. There are many factors that may impact the price of plastic materials including market prices, loading weights, volumes, material quality, and the sorting/picking process.

What kinds of Rigid Plastics can we Recycle?

Rigid plastics encompass a huge range of plastic waste, and businesses dispose of all kinds of plastic items. Some examples may include;

  • Pallets and other rigid plastic packaging
  • High-Density Polyethylene tubs, containers and buckets
  • Crates and shopping baskets and carts
  • The housings of business electronics
  • Waste disposal bins
  • Moulded plastic seats
  • Outdoor furniture
  • Water butts
  • Water cooler bottles
  • Broken or damaged children’s toys

As you can see, combined these items make up a significant proportion of what many businesses send away to landfill, and we at Plastic Expert would be delighted to work with you to discuss how we could help you with your recycling needs.

What happens when we take your Mixed and Bulky Rigid Plastics away?

We are proud to be the leaders in rigid plastic recycling in the UK and we are committed to helping businesses reduce their plastic waste and together look after the environment.

Once you have confirmed that you are happy with the price we offer, your mixed rigid plastics are collected using a curtain sider vehicle or shipping container. Where possible, plastics are squashed down and baled so greater quantities per load can be sent to the recycling facility.

When they reach these locations, rigid plastics are dry cleaned and assorted into different polymer types. This is done using an optic beam which can determine different types of plastic for accurate sorting and to avoid contamination. Once properly separated, rigid plastics are separately shredded into flakes and any impurities such as paper labels are removed during the process.

These flakes are then melted down to form polymer pellets. Because rigid plastics are used in so many items, this means that there is virtually no limit to what can be made using these pellets once they have been melted down once again.
