How Is Polycarbonate Recycled?
Polycarbonate (PC) has significantly increased in popularity and uses over the last ten years. Its impact resistance, uv protected light transmission properites allow manufacturers to use it in many different applications. The material is thermally resistant up to 130 °C which is why it’s commonly seen as roofing sheets and secondary glazing. The material is available in several different grades such as flame retardant, reinforced and shatter/crack resistant. This material is also commonly blended with ABS to make certain products.
PC is so strong that it’s less resistant to impact however, it’s fully recyclable and as it’s made from a natural resource (oil) it provides an excellent yields for plastic recycling factories.
