Nylon is a synthetic polymer derived from petrochemicals, most commonly as PA6 (from caprolactam) or PA66 (from adipic acid and hexamethylenediamine). Both are recyclable, but they must be kept separate.
PA6 has a lower melting point and is easier to reprocess; PA66 is stiffer and more heat-resistant.
